"Who ready to ride or die for me? Time to welcome home the dead homie... dead homie." That is right! Blaze Ya Dead Homie has returned with his latest release The Casket Factory. The twelve track album was released January 15th and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. Each song brings it's own unique vibe to your speakers. Be it "Ghost" or even several tracks after with "Worm Food" you can definitely sense the individualism in each track. This album marks Blaze Ya Dead Homie's second release on Majik Ninja Entertainment. The label might not be Psychopathic Records but The Casket Factory features a lot more Psychopathic artists on this album compared to Blaze's last one. One appearance was from ABK on the song "Ratchet." Any Body Killer came into the track on point talking about the ratchets from the hood. It was a comedy driven track that was given just the right amount of lyrics to become a hit. It wasn't quite Drive-By but I'll still take it. Boondox also returned and was put onto a track called "Who U Lookin' 4." This had to be my personal favorite tune off the album. That hook alone gives me chills "Pull the trigger and turn you into a ghost!" Blaze and Boondox have been a phenomenal team since they worked on "Dead Neck" off Clockwork Grey. There are also some new names to collaborate with Blaze. Three tracks in on the track "Ghost" you'll hear Kung Fu Vampire. But then there's also Lex the Hex Master who is featured on the track "They Call That Gangsta." According to Blaze, "Lex brings his own East coast style to the tracks." Alongside Blaze's hype-man The R.O.C. everyone on the track literally murders it. The ending of the trip to The Casket Factory is a song entitled "I Will Bury U." It was the best way to end this album. Blaze Ya Mortician err... Ya Dead Homie closes the album on a song where he describes how he's going to bury you after finding the perfect casket. "This shovel, the earth, this casket it works, it fits, it's right, I'LL BURY YOU TONIGHT." The haunting chant echos as the song goes on until you are greeted by a deep voice. The voice tells you that you have reached the end of the album and that there is a casket made for you. It's like a eulogy that later transforms into a message saying "I'm the dead man and I'm coming for you ALL!" I loved every minute of this album. It's what we expected to hear from Blaze, it's what we wanted to hear from Blaze, and it's what we heard from Blaze. Tour dates and link to listen to the album on Spotify below the break.

It seems as though Machine Head is forced to postpone their upcoming tour in an attempt to get their recent album, Bloodstone & Diamonds, out on time. The band's eight album is scheduled for a November 10th release via Nuclear Blast. The band has released a statement for the tour postponement: "It is with great disappointment that Machine Head must announce the postponement of our North American tour this fall. Our new album “Bloodstone & Diamonds” has taken longer to complete than expected and we had to make the difficult choice to either delay the album, let it go out as incomplete, or cancel the tour in order to properly finish and promote the album in the caliber it needs to be done. We decided postponing the tour was the best decision for the record. We feel this record is a milestone, we feel we have something truly special here, but getting there has been a challenge. Our vocalist / guitarist Robb Flynn just returned from a press tour where he was playing rough mixes and incomplete versions of songs for the press just to try and keep everything on time for our November release date. Refunds will be available for tickets at point of purchase. Look out for rescheduled American tour dates for the beginning of the year. All scheduled European tour dates will remain as scheduled. " The track listing for the upcoming album Bloodstone & Diamonds was also released. Track listing is as follows: MACHINE HEAD - BLOODSTONE & DIAMONDS 1. Now We Die 2. Killers & Kings 3. Ghosts Will Haunt My Bones 4. Night Of Long Knives 5. Sail Into The Black 6. Eyes Of The Dead 7. Beneath The Silt 8. In Comes The Flood 9. Damage Inside 10. Game Over 11. Imaginal Cells (Instrumental) 12. Take Me Through The Fire Check out the latest emerging super group. They're known as Devil's Highway. Comprised of Kyle Thomas (of EXHORDER, ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY) on Vocals, Ralph Santolla (of OBITUARY, ICED EARTH, DEICIDE, DEATH) on Guitar Matt Brunson (of CROWBAR, KINGDOM OF SORROW) on Guitar Tony Laureano (of DIMMU BORGIR, 1349, NILE, ACHERON) on Drums and Steve DiGiorgio (of TESTAMENT, SADUS, ICED EARTH, DEATH) on Bass. The group seems to bring a ton of variety to the table and based on the teaser that they've released it seems as though it could come together nicely. Check out their first "unofficial" release entitled "Blighted Hous After going to Japan with Ralph, Tony and Steve [as the DEATH METAL ALLSTARS], we decided it was so much fun that we should make a real band."
Two new singles later Slipknot finally announces the new album in detail. The fifth album from the Iowa rockers is the first without bassist Paul Gray and drummer Joey Jordison. The album is titled .5: The Gray Chapter as an homage to the late bassist and is expected to be released October 21st. It's hard to think that it has been six years since the world first heard tunes like "Snuff," "Psychosocial," "Dead Memories," and "Sulfur." Back in 2008, I was a young boy who had still not seen Slipknot and I guess I waited too long. I eventually caught them on their second time headlining Mayhem Festival in 2012 without Paul Gray. The track listing for the album can be found below as well as the first two singles on the album. Slipknot will be on tour this winter with Korn and King 810.
The 'Big Four' of thrash metal, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and the almighty Megadeth. The last time these four bands shared a stage was at Yankee Stadium back in 2011 and the gathering is considered to be one for the books. A lot of speculation as to when or if we'll see another show has come into play recently. However, Megadeth vocalist and guitarist, Dave Mustaine, has recently revealed in an interview with KAAOS TV out in Finland that he would be up to do another 'Big Four' show. Mustaine comments: Look, I’m open to playing; I don’t really care who I play with. We had fun. I think the fans had fun. It’s important that the fans do have a good time. I have nothing against it. There’s a lot of variables, though … You have all these different camps with the ‘Big Four.’ I think that it would be great to do it some more, but there’s also the beauty of it being something special and not doing it everywhere, because the people that did get to see it got to see something really fantastic. You know, if meteors came by every single night, after a while, it’d be, like, ‘Oh, there’s another meteor.’ There’s something special about it being very rare. So I would, but it also has to work out for everybody.” You can view the whole interview below which goes on to discuss Megadeth's plans for the new album, 20th anniversary tour for Youthanasia, and some wise words from Uncle Dave Mustaine. It's gone from 98% to 100% in only a few weeks. Ladies and gentlemen the new Slipknot album is complete according to sources at The Pulse of Radio. The currently untitled album marks Slipknot's first studio album to not include late bassist Paul Gray and also the first album to not feature drummer Joey Jordison. (Yes, Joey was replaced and we will get to that.) Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor recently spoke with HardDrive host Lou Brutus about recording the latest album without Gray and Jordison. It was interesting. We knew it was gonna be heavy. We knew it was gonna be one of those things where it's like, 'Okay, we're in uncharted territory right now, so what do we do?' You know. And Jim and Clown really stepped up, you know. They kind of started leading the charge and really getting stuff together. So by the time we really got into the studio, we had a really great template of music to check out. You've got the gorgeous melodies and the artistic direction of 'Vol. 3' and then you've got the absolute brutality of 'Iowa'. And I think people are gonna lose their minds when they hear it."
What is the band Buckcherry known for? Good music mixed with a little good ol' profanity. Yet even with that profanity the band has managed to make it onto the radio airwaves with songs like "Crazy Bitch," and "Lit Up," a song completely about doing cocaine. Last year's album Confessions was a more laid back album (it might even be considered an album of self-realization reflecting on what the band has done in the past.) The band has recently decided that they are going to release a brand new EP entitled Fuck. The album is expected to be released on August 18th. Lead singer Josh Todd posted the following about the new album: This is a tribute to the word ‘fuck’... Over the years, we’ve been told so many times to get away from the honesty that makes this band special. It’s a part of who I am. It’s not about the profanity itself; it’s about using it cleverly.” First off, yes that is an extremely cheesy title. But in a recent interview with Team Rock AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson was asked about the recent Canadian album sessions in which he had this to say: "It was brilliant over there, We’re done. I’m very excited and we’ve got some great songs." It looks as though the brand new album is finished despite the set back of being down one Malcolm Young. The band has pulled somewhat of a Van Halen move recruiting Stevie Young (Malcolm's nephew) to help the band finish the new album. Johnson claims that Stevie's work on the new album is "magnificent." When it comes to possible titles for the album Johnson had one particular title in mind. “I wanted to call the album Man Down, but it’s a bit negative," he said "It was straight from the heart." So things are looking up for AC/DC. The new album which is currently untitled is planned to be released in 2015 and will be the follow-up to 2008's Black Ice. Hopefully we will see some more information regarding the new album in the near future. |
