This years Vans Warped Tour has a slew of bands: Falling In Reverse, Motionless In White, The Devil Wears Prada, Attila, and that's just a sliver of the bands playing. The Warped Tour, now in it's nineteenth year, is home to some of the major punk, indie, alternative, and metal core bands known and loved by the so called "scene." But this year the festival has decided to ban moshing and crowd surfing across all of the venues. To that I say good luck.

2014 marks the twentieth anniversary of the classic Offspring album "Smash" which made it's debut in 1994. The album contains the band's well known hits; "Come Out and Play", "Self-Esteem", and "Gotta Get Away." The band has begun their tour across the seas performing the album in it's entirety at Berlin's Groezrock. The band will be playing at the House Of Blues in Boston Massachusetts along with many other cities. Check out the upcoming tour dates and what cities The Offspring plan to 'SMASH'! Can't afford a ticket to the Tennessee festival this year? Well with some nice speakers and a good wi-fi reception you can almost enjoy it to full capacity. The festival will be streaming on both Xbox and the festival's website. Among the line-up are: Pusha-T, Cage The Elephant, Vampire Weekend, Tedeschi Trucks, Cake, Jack White, Lionel Richie, and Elton John. What I am really looking forward to is the "Super Jam" on Saturday night lead by Derek Trucks. Who knows who will show up. You can see the streaming schedule HERE. Last year marked an indefinite end to everyone's favorite emo band My Chemical Romance. But fear not! Gerard Way is still releasing music and some will debate whether or not he was the face of the band or not. The name of the song is called "Action Cat" and according to some MCR fans it sounds just like a regular My Chemical Romance song. Check out the song below, it's not that bad and I am looking foward to seeing more from Way in the future. One of the hardest working bands in the industry today; Rise Against. The punk rock band has announced a July 15th date for their new album "The Black Market" through Interscope Records. To hold their fans over the band released a lyric video for the first single for the album titled "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore.." Rise Against has always been a political band, but also a personal band. We've always had songs that have a foot in both worlds. This album is a lot more introspective to me." |
