This year's GWAR-B-Q is going to be a special one. A viking funeral for the late Oderus Urungus, numerous bands playing including the almighty GWAR, and a brand new addition; this year the festival will be serving "KILLSNER." Killsner is a brand new craft brew created by Cigar City Brewing and GWAR. 5.55% alcohol and looking to blow the minds of everyone who wishes to quench their thirst with a brew. But this is no ordinary brew, this brew is exclusive to the GWAR-B-Q. If you're looking to taste the Killsner you're going to have to hightail it to Richmond, Virginia on August 16th and attend this year's GWAR-B-Q. It's a brew for the ultimate bohabs. Make sure you check out Cigar City Brewing HERE. Other sponsors for the event include Mt. Baker Vapor, Brown Distributing, Genessee Cream Ale, and Monster Energy Drink.

Since the dawn of time fans have been waiting for a tour that featured the two well known masked bands and today hope has progressed. Fans of both Slipknot and Mushroomhead have been waiting for a tour containing both bands and Slipknot front man Corey Taylor has shed some light on the situation. In a recent interview with Live Metal: “I’m working on that, honestly. It probably won’t happen right away, just because [Slipknot’s] been gone for awhile and we have all these changes, and we’ve got a new album coming out. So we want to kinda take the first six or seven months and just kind of re-establish ourselves. March 23rd, 2014 the world of heavy metal lost an icon. David Brockie (also known as Oderus Urungus) the lead singer of GWAR suddenly passed away at age 50. When I heard that news I sank down a few levels. Not only had I known that I just missed my chance to ever see GWAR again, but also that everyone in the metal world will never be the same. Earlier this week it was revealed that Brockie's cause of death was through an accidental heroin overdose. Virginia native, Lamb of God front man, and personal friend of Brockie, Randy Blythe, had some deep things to share on his Instagram stating his opinion on the matter. |
