One of my favorite super groups, Killer Be Killed, has still yet to play their first live show together. Well it seems as that's about to change at this year's Soundwave Festival in Melbourne, Australia. Prepare to have your wings dipped in wax because this year's Soundwave is bound to be historic. Killer Be Killed features Max Cavelera of Soulfly, Greg Puciato of Dillenger Escape Plan, Troy Sanders of Mastodon and Dave Elitch formerly of The Mars Volta. The band's self-titled freshman album Killer Be Killed debuted at no.58 on the Billboard 200 and was produced by Josh Wilbur who has worked with countless artists. It's sad to say that there has yet to be a U.S. tour of the album due to all the bands being busy with touring but for this festival they just happened to be together. So it's possible that we could see KBK at Rock on The Range or Aftershock next year. Who knows? I don't even think the members of KBK know where the touring schedule for the band is going to end up going. For the lucky bastards in Australia you can catch Killer Be Killed playing Soundwave XV February 21-22 at Bonython Park in Adelaide and Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne and February 28-March 1 at Olympic Park in Sydney and Brisbane Showgrounds in Brisbane. Don't miss out!

These guys just played a SOLD-OUT crowd in Worcester yesterday and should be proud to have this album finished and ready to go. In a recent interview with Wisconsin's RAZOR 94.7 front woman Lzzy Hale was asked about the release date for their next album in which she responded with this: That's what we're discussing this week with our label. There's half of everybody that wants everything to be out right now, and then half of everybody was, like, 'No. We should be patient and make sure…'" I'm not sure where I stand with that. 'Cause, obviously, I'm very impatient. But I also kind of want everything to be done right." That's okay Lzzy, fans will be happy with the album whenever you plan to release it because let's be honest: who doesn't like new music? The current follow-up to 2012's The Strange Case of... is currently untitled and is anticipated for an undetermined 2015 release. You can catch Halestorm on the road opening for country star Eric Church on their "Outsiders World Tour" January 8th through February. Check out the full interview with RAZOR 94.7 below. The dates for the annual Metal and Hardcore Festival have been announced. Once again it will be held in Worcester, Massachusetts at The Palladium. This year's dates are April 17th, 18th, and 19th. The festival is now in their seventeenth consecutive year and has played host to bands such as All That Remains, Hatebreed, GWAR, Unearth, Killswitch Engage and has given exposure to many upcoming bands. This year's line-up will be revealed December 8th giving all of those New England metal fans something to look forward to this Spring. I'm planning to attend this year so I will see you there.
Two Megadeth related posts in a row. Imagine this: Dave Mustaine, Dave Ellefson, and Dave Lombardo? Well after a recent clinic in Geneva, Switzerland former Slayer drummer David Lombardo had a very interesting comment. Blabbermouth regular Phillip L. was getting a copy of FANTÔMAS' 'The Director's Cut' signed by Lombardo and he brought up the point that Megadeth was in need of a new drummer "as of yesterday" and according to Phillip that was when Lombardo looked up at him and smiled. He was then quoted as saying: I know. I just heard. Dave [Mustaine] has my number, so I'm waiting." What a tease. Aside from the Megadeth comment Lombardo also talked about his drumming style, influences, how much he apreciates metal drumming, and even talked a little about Lars Ulrich of Metallica. But could you imagine Lombardo re-entering the big four of thrash with another band? I wonder what thoughts would be going through former band mates of Slayer. I hope we can see something work out between all three Dave's and only hope that money doesn't become an issue.
SOURCE: http://www.blabbermouth.net Drover had been the band's drummer since 2004. Not only did Drover leave but shortly after that statement it was revealed that guitarist Chris Broderick would also be leaving the band. Broderick posted an official statement as well.
As of right now no one truly knows what the future of the band looks like. The band was currently planning their fifteenth release and was rumored to be working on a US tour next year. I would assume the band will be on a slight hiatus until both spots have been filled. Is it possible that Mustaine might bring back former members from the band or possibly add two new unheard of members. Anything is possible. It seems as though even former Slayer drummer and fellow thrash metal colleague David Lombardo has interest in joining the band. Who would you like to see replace Drover and Broderick? I'm still pulling for Nick Menza and Marty Friedman to rejoin but one could only hope.
