He's so bad... he needs detention. Scott Ian has announced a release date for his new autobiography titled I'm The Man: The Story of That Guy From Anthrax. It's set for an October 10th release and I can't wait. The book contains a foreword by fellow thrash metal guitarist Kirk Hammett (of Metallica.) I'm The Man details the life and times of guitarist Scott Ian. Stories about growing up as a nerdy kid in Queens, NY, stories about Anthrax, drama with Belladonna, autobiographical comic book inserts, and there are even some stories about the Big Four shows alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. Ian will be working with author Jon Weiderhorn who recently wrote Louder Than Life: The Definitive Oral History of Metal and is also a writer over at Revolver Magazine. The autobiography is going to be a great read and is highly anticipated alongside Randy Blythe's upcoming release. You can pre-order the book on Amazon for about $20 HERE. I am working with Jon Wiederhorn. But I am doing quite a bit of the actual writing. That's kind of one of the reasons why I haven't done one yet. For years I would get asked about doing a book but I couldn't commit because I couldn't say 'yes' and then take seven years to write it. But I know Jon so well and he's written things based on interviews that I've done with him — he's literally written things that are my voice. He could write in my written voice. So I just knew that it would work really well together with him and obviously that takes a lot of the load off of me. So we've kind of broken it up into who's gonna do what."
